On October 23, 1998, a small independant feature written and directed by a former poet, and starring two amateur actresses opened in a few theaters in it's native country of Sweden. Originally only set for release in Sweden due to low finances, this film suddenly and unexpectedly boomed in it's homeland, making enough money to rival Titanic at the top of the list of all-time highest grossing films in Sweden. Soon it was released in even more countries worldwide, and although it's greatest financial success came in Scandinavia, it appeared on critics top-ten lists all over the globe. The original name of the film was Fucking Amal, but in most English speaking nations, it is refered to as Show Me Love. Today is the 9th anniversary of it's release.
Today begins a 1-year personal project that I am dubbing "project SML." For the next 365 days, I will watch Show Me Love once a day, ending on October 23, 2008 - the tenth anniversary. Honestly, I hope I have the attention span to undertake this.
I began watching at 10:30 am this morning with my first viewing on my Zen Vision:M. Here's to an entire year of Love.
